Microsoft’s Brandon Watson Leaving Windows Phone for Amazon

February 3, 2012 No Comments

We all in the Windows Phone community understand and appreciate what Brandon Watson has done for Microsoft and Windows Phone. That’s why its hard to believe that Brandon will be leaving Microsoft and the Windows Phone team but that is exactly what’s happening.

He has taken a job at Amazon.

ZDnet also has a note from a Microsoft representative stating:

“We can confirm February 6th is Brandon Watson’s last day at Microsoft. Brandon did a great job helping us build a vibrant developer community and we wish him well with his next adventure.”

We will still be hearing from Brandon as he will still be keeping busy with Microsoft related technologies.

Watson is going to be the Director of the Kindle Cross Platform team. There he will be working on the product development roadmap for Kindle apps across all first- and third-party platforms worldwide, including the Windows Phone app and the Windows 8 app. – ZDNET

We wish him luck at his new job as it really does sound like a tough position to pass up.
