Stephen Elop Focusing on Windows Phone Retail IssuesJanuary 28, 2012 1 Comment
Stephen Elop looks to be concentrating on the ‘retail experience’ when it comes to selling Nokia Lumia’s.
Recently he was quoted in stating that:
“We need to increase the engagement of the retail sales associates in the stores, because it is the retail associate who speaks with our consumers and puts the Lumia device in their hands. For example, in the United Kingdom, where competitive ecosystems are firmly entrenched, we have seen mixed retail execution around Lumia devices with a range of results among different locations, different chains, different stores and so on.” – Elop
I agree as I think it is very important to have sales clerks at carrier locations not only knowledgeable but on your side. We as techies forget that most people that go into a cell phone store are not sure as to what they should get. Microsoft and Nokia for that matter need to make sure that they are represented well at the physical store locations if Windows Phone is to grow.
With the Lumia 900 coming out in only a few weeks, it is of high importance that these amazing phones actually get to into customers hands.
