Microsoft Tag App Updated – Now Just ‘How To’ For Bing Vision

December 22, 2011 No Comments

Instead of pulling the Microsoft Tag app from the marketplace because all of its functions are already built in into Windows Phone via the Mango update. Microsoft has used the app to show its users how to use Bing Vision. When you launch the application, all it shows is a step by step video on how to scan codes using Windows Phone Bing Vision.

Pretty good idea I wonder how long it will be available until the app is finally pulled from the marketplace.

App Info:
Microsoft Tag is now built into Bing’s new Windows Phone 7.5 Visual Search functionality. Scan both Tag barcodes and QR Codes using Bing Visual Search. Simply tap Search to launch Bing, then press the Vision search icon from the app bar. Hover the viewfinder over your Tag barcode or QR Code and your item will be scanned.
