Homebrew: Folders Updated to V3 (Customize Your Start Screen)

December 20, 2011 No Comments

Live Tiles as folders has been discussed since Windows Phone launched. Would it be a good thing or a bad thing to allow users to create a live tile tat acts like a folder to group their apps? I honestly think that it goes against what Metro is all about but giving users the option is never a bad thing. WindowsPhoneHacker has been working on a homebrew app that does just that. Recently it has been updated to version 3 which adds the following features.

  • Support for custom accents (manually enter the color, since we don’t have a way to detect it)
  • Optimization, bug fixes
  • Easier to pin applications
  • Able to use applications from other markets (e.g. fr-FR)
  • Able to save the XAP to deploy manually (makes things easier)
