Nokia: Attack on the US Mobile Market Called Operation ‘Rolling Thunder’
December 15, 2011 2 Comments
After yesterdays announcements of the Lumia 710 being available on T-Mobile in January, some Windows Phone/ Nokia fans we a bit let down. After my hands on with the Lumia 710 I can tell you its a great device but it is not a flagship phone. People were waiting on Nokia making a huge splash in the US by offering the Lumia 800 or possibly the Lumia 900.
Don’t you worry about devices in the US though because Nokia looks to offer many new Windows Phone devices in many different form factors and price points.
Enter operation ‘Rolling Thunder’
“We will be launching a portfolio of devices in the U.S. across a range of price points, user experience and operators,”Weber said in an interview. The rollouts are referred to internally as “Operation Rolling Thunder,” he said.
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas starting Jan. 10, “we’ll have a very large presence and it’ll be clear that Nokia is back in a quite strong way in the U.S.,” Weber said.
Looks like there will be no shortage of Windows Phones by Nokia in the US. I can’t wait to see what else they have in stored because from what I have seen already, Nokia knows what its doing.
