No Verizon Suppport For Windows Phone Until LTEDecember 6, 2011 No Comments
This whole speed war that US carriers are fighting is already completely ridiculous. You have carriers not focusing on actual service/ pricing and just boasting about who has the ‘real’ 4G network. Now Verizon Wireless Chief Marketing Officer Marni Walden says that the Windows Phones lack of LTE is the reason why Verizon only has one Windows Phone (HTC Trophy) out which has a pretty silent launch this past may and no new Windows Phone in the near future.
For Verizon, the biggest problem with Windows Phone is the lack of support for LTE. Microsoft has said it would add LTE support, but hasn’t been specified as to when.
“We’ve communicated to Microsoft that LTE is critical to us,” she said. “We need to see a timeline that makes sense if we want to continue to represent them.”
This is completely different story that Verizon was telling a few months back when their CEO Lowell McAdam said that Windows Phone would overtake Blackberry for the 3rd spot. We already know that LTE is coming to Windows Phone 2012, I guess that will mark when Verizon will start making any effort with Windows Phone.
