Windows Phone Leads All Other Platforms in Click Through RateNovember 30, 2011 No Comments
Even though Microsoft’s relativly new Windows Phone platform is trailing mobile giants like Apple’s iPhone and Google Android in sales. Windows Phone has already gained a top spot in a pretty important category, which is ad click through rate.
This shows that even thuogh the Windows Phone platform is new and still growing, developers who are worried about sale numbers can look towards ads to make up some of the sales difference.
Elaborating on the recent Microsoft/Nokia partnership, Ragnar Kruse, Smaato’s CEO and Co-founder said:
“It will be interesting to see how the new Window Phone partnership will play out related to mobile advertising performance. Nokia and Microsoft have a great opportunity to establish a viable third ecosystem. They will have to establish a new niche ecosystem for the customer, however, the combination of security, established systems and a new look could be very popular in Europe & Asia.â€
Kruse further explains, “Developers are advised not to overlook the Nokia/Windows combination as it might be a platform that is easier to monetize, will have less threats of piracy as it will be a more closed ecosystem, and will also offer more cohesiveness.â€
Nokia’s Windows Phones have already made a splash over seas and with the Nokia 900 headed to the US, look for Windows Phones future to look even brighter.
