Popular IOS Apps Turn to Windows Phone at NYC Mobile Acceleration Week

November 22, 2011 No Comments

Microsoft held its Mobile Acceleration Week in NYC by hand picking 12 startups to get  hands-on support and training to build compelling apps for the Windows Phone platform. This is a perfect strategy for Microsoft as it not only promote the ecosystem but it gets high profile apps from other mobile OS’s and brings them to Windows Phone users.

TechCrunch has highlighted these next  apps as the best from the dozen that were chosen. All look very promising and I can’t wait for them to land on Windows Phone.

  • Flud: FLUD is your personalized mobile news reader. The app is customized to your tastes — follow all your favorite blogs and news sites.
  • Get-A-Game: Get-A-Game connects active people looking for sports and pickup games
  • GateGuru: GateGuru is a new tool to transform the chaotic and unfamiliar airport environment into a more satisfying experience before and after flights, and during layovers.
  • Taap.it: A whole new shopping experience on the go. Purchase from nearby stores right from your phone.
