Microsoft Purchases Indie Developer ‘Twisted Pixel’

I am a huge fan of Twisted Pixel, their games are usually very funny and light hearted but also includes great gameplay. Twisted Pixel has made a name for themselves by creating games just for Xbox Live and PC with titles like:
- Comic Jumper
- ‘Splosion Man
- The Gunstringer
- The Maw
Joystiq is reporting that Microsoft has purchased Twisted Pixel, which is a great pick up for the company. Hopefully we will see not only bigger and better games from them but also maybe games developed for Windows Phone. A game like Comic Jumper would be amazing on a a smaller scale, The Maw would be a perfect fit as well.
Matt Booty, general manager of Microsoft Studios, explained to Joystiq how they intend to be hands off with the small indie studio
“Microsoft’s a very big company, and you’ve got Twisted Pixel, a relatively smaller developer. We’re very invested that they get to stay who they are, and they get to retain the magic they’ve got as a smaller indie developer,” Booty said. “We’d like to leave the golden goose alone, so to speak.”
