Zune Players (Zune HD) Still Hanging Around?

This has played out like a regular daytime TV drama. First Zune.net refreshed their homepage and doesn’t mention the Zune HD as a compatible device. Then Microsoft turns around and says that it was just a mistake. Yesterday we noticed that one of the Zune support pages finally revealed that they would in fact be doing away with the Zune HD.

Now when you visit the exact same page, you get this.

its address might have changed, it might be temporarily inaccessible, or you
might have mistyped the address.

What the hell is going on here? Is the person that is in charge of the Zune.net site that horrible? Probably not, my guess is that he is just that efficient. Looks to me like that page was just placed there way too soon. I wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft made it official before the years over.

Hope they change their mind about Zune standalone players. Wouldn’t mind a Zune HD2 loaded with Windows Phone minus the actual calling.
