Today, We Bid Farewell to the Zune HD [UPDATED]

October 3, 2011 No Comments

In a final effort to ditch the Zune HD, Microsoft has officially removed the device from the Zune music pass page. It is no longer listed as an option for which your Zune pass can be used.

It hasn’t exactly been a big secret that Microsoft was going to choose to discontinue Zune hardware. Microsoft is instead is focusing on Windows Phone as their all in one media player. Microsoft has even come forth to say that they are working on porting Zune HD applications to Windows Phone.

ETA: Apparently this was all just a big misunderstanding. Microsoft Zune Manager, Michael Yaeger took to his Twitter account to let everyone know that it was simply a mistake. “Zune HD product page is still on Zune.net – publishing mishap when we pushed out the CA work” .
