Zune Service Will be Made Available to Canada, Changes in Store for US

September 29, 2011 No Comments

October 3, 2011 will mark the day that Zune will be made available in Canada. Users will be able to subscribe to the Zune music pass for C$9.99 per month or C$99.90 a year.

I am sure some of you are wondering why their prices are lower than in the US. Well, Microsoft has decided to change the Zune pass. Beginning October 3rd, the Zune pass will be $9.99 but you will no longer be able to download 10 mp3’s a month. They are also lowering the amount of devices that you can have connected to your Zune account from six to four.

Fear not current Zune subscribers! If you are currently on the $14.99 plan you will remain on it and have no changes to your account unless you choose to downgrade.

Another change coming to Zune pass is the addition of music video streaming. Music videos have been available on Zune only for purchase but with the changes we will be able to stream videos to our Zune PC software and to our Xbox 360’s later on in the Fall.
