Microsoft Changes Chassis Specs For Low-End Windows Phone Devices

September 28, 2011 No Comments

When we wrote about the new ZTE Tania, we doubted the rumored specs since it had less than 8GB storage. Now it seems as that it is just one of Microsoft’s plans going into effect. Windows Phone has changed its minimum requirements for one of their chassis profiles for low end Windows Phone devices. Check out the new requirements below:

Tezawaly from NanaPho.jp translated the new specifications:

  • Capacitive Touch Panel- 4 points or over multi-touch
  • Sensors – A-GPS, Accelometer, Compass, Proximity
  • Camera -3MP or over
  • Connector – MicroUSB, 3.5mm jack
  • Storage – 2GB or over
  • CPU – ?

It doesn’t seem like this kind of device will hit the US market. I also believe it is not only a good move for Consumers and Microsoft but also for developers as Windows Phones will be more obtainable in other parts of the world.
