Verizon CEO: Windows Phone Will Beat BlackBerry For Third Spot

September 23, 2011 No Comments

We all know what Windows Phone is capable of, I for one agree with some analyst out there that think Windows Phone will hold the #2 spot in the mobile game – if not #1 by 2015. It is a different story though hearing that sort of talkĀ from the Lowell McAdam, Verizon CEO. He says that Windows Phone will beat out Blackberry for the 3rd position in the mobile war.

“The carriers are beginning to coalesce around the need for a third ecosystem,” said McAdam on Wednesday. “Over the next 12 months I think it will coalesce and you will start to see one emerge as a legitimate third ecosystem. In my opinion, it’ll be between RIM and Microsoft, and I expect Microsoft to come out victorious.”

That is very good news for us since I have felt that carriers have not been doing a very good job of promoting Windows Phones at all. From in store displays to TV promos. It has all been very lackluster and I hope this feeling is contagious among all the other carriers so people can actually start realizing how great Windows Phone is.
