Dell Venue Pro: Dell Officially Announces Mango Update

Dell has jumped on the Mango update wagon and has publicly announced that they will be supporting the Mango update later this fall. Interesting enough, Dell is stating that they will in fact be rolling out Mango later this fall for Dell Venue Pro users who either have unlocked devices or are locked in with T-mobile or Bell. AT&T has been left behind and Dell says they will be updating everyone on Mango for devices under AT&T’s.

Venue Pro + Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) OS update:

We will support the upgrade from Windows Phone 7 to Mango for the following:

• Customers with Unlocked Venue Pro units
• Customers with T-Mobile and Cincinnati Bell SIM-Locked units

Regarding customers with AT&T-locked units, more information will be forthcoming.

What I also find interesting is that unlike everyone else, Dell is really not giving the usual 2 weeks scenario and has gone to the later this fall approach. I hope they can narrow that down to give us somewhat of a firm date.
