AT&T Says T-Mobile Customers Can Keep Their Rate Plan – Even After Contract Expires
September 21, 2011 1 CommentAT&T’s pending acquisition of T-mobile has been a nightmare for both parties so far. AT&T has been bombarded with companies, politicians and customers that are apposing this deal. T-mobile customers so far have either left T-mobile for another carrier or are just waiting in fear hoping this deal doesn’t go through.
So what can AT&T do but try and smooth things over for everyone. They recently made changes to their FAQ’s to highlight how they will be dealing with the customers they get from T-mobile.
AT&T:
Scripted question: Will my service or bill change due to the AT&T announcement?
Scripted Answer: No. While AT&T and T-Mobile have agreed to an acquisition, it will not be finalized for an estimated 12 months. Until that time, T-Mobile customers will not see any significant changes to their current T-Mobile experience as a result of the pending transaction. If the acquisition is approved AT&T will honor the terms of each T-Mobile customer’s contract. T-Mobile customers will be able to keep their rate plans. They will be able to do so for as long as they want to, even when their terms end and the service continues on a month-to-month basis.
Even though this should of been a given, it really doesn’t matter since as soon as you upgrade your device, you will probably have to enter a new contract anyway.
Personally, I do not want the deal to pass either…
