AppFlow Updated, Version 2.0 Now Available

September 10, 2011 1 Comment

Our favorite Marketplace search engine has just received a major update. For detailed information check out the press release below.

Press Release

Only three weeks after launching the first version of AppFlow, already a major revamp is out. The developers listened to feedback and implemented some missing functionality making the app a potential substitute for the Marketplace app. Here are the new features.

Live Tile

The live tile shows the total number of apps in the marketplace, the daily featured app as well as thethumbnails of the 100 newest apps in the Marketplace. The app thumbnail has also been revamped for a much classier icon than previously.

Categories & Localized App Prices

In the new version we’ve made it possible to browse the Marketplace categories – enterntainment, tools+productivity etc – and also added support for free, trial+paid, paid and “all” filters. Try it out – it’s a great alternative way to browse the Marketplace! Also, app prices show up in your local currency, not in US dollars like before.

Faster than Marketplace Browsing

We’ve added some further tweaks to make browsing faster than on the Marketplace. Unlike the Marketplace, the app downloads multiple thumbnails and screenshots in one request, making loading time of lists, application details and application screenshots an estimated 2-8 times faster. Not only does this mean faster loading and browsing than the official Marketplace app, but also makes it the fastest 3rd party Marketplace browsing app.

New Lists

• Best Live Tile Apps – apps you’ll want to pin on your startscreen
• David vs Goliath – official apps of big brands and their unofficial, often better alternatives
• Apps Gone Free – apps that have been paid but now made free
• …and other lists like Back to School and Essential Apps.
