Microsoft Confirms WP7 Tango and Apollo

Yesterday Microsoft held a MSDN seminar called “The Next Generation of Development,” in Hong Kong. During the presentation they spoke about the much speculated update codenamed Tango.

Tango will NOT be a major update but a minor one for areas like China and India. The update will also bring things like:

• Improved Bing service to those areas
• It will be a lower priced version of Windows Phone

Another update was confirmed by Microsoft at the same event. This one though is quite major as it has to do with the next evolution of Windows Phone. They finally gave word that Apollo is in fact the codename for Windows Phone 8.

I wonder how the Tango update will work. Will it just come packed in to those devices that are headed out to those countries or will there be an actual update available. Only time will tell….
