Microsoft: It’s up to OEM’s What Happens Next With Mango

August 19, 2011 No Comments

Peter Wissinger, director for Microsoft’s Mobile Business Group took to his Facebook page to give a tiny piece of information. Bear in mind the message was in Swedish so this is a rough translation:

Official statement: Now it’s up to our manufacturing partners to release mangoes to our customers. Microsoft has finished mango supplier earlier than planned to the manufacturers. Feels good now.

You can’t hide the fact that this man is proud of his company.

Now we know for sure that Microsoft did in fact distribute Mango to OEM’s a couple of weeks ago. What happens next depends on manufacturers but since they received RTM Mango ahead of schedule I wouldn’t expect too much. Plus OEM’s aren’t the only hurdle for the next generation of Windows Phones, you have to take into account the carriers and anything else that might delay it. Let’s see what unfolds.
