Skype Working on Video Engine for Windows Phone

August 3, 2011 No Comments

If there was ever any doubt that Skype would be integrated into Windows Phone, those doubts should all be gone. A job posting was discovered on Skype Careers and apparently Skype is on the search for someone to help bring Skype to Windows Phone.

As an Engineer in the Microsoft Platforms team, you are
responsible for building and optimizing the Skype Video Engine solution for Microsoft Windows and Windows Phone platforms. You will be working with a small team of highly skilled development and testing professionals to deliver a new release of the Video Engine every 2 months.

With the new Mango devices featuring front-facing cameras it really is no surprise that Skype is coming to Windows Phone. It is good to know that they are already at work though. Hopefully it’s not too long before we are having video conferences on our Windows Phones.
