Student’s Unofficial WP7 Commercial Gets Him a Job at Microsoft

August 2, 2011 No Comments

The name Brandon Foy might not ring a bell for many. Brandon Foy is a student who created a Windows Phone ad concept in February. His concept was so well liked it caught wind and people really took notice, including Microsoft themselves.

Brandon Foy was even invited to Microsoft’s Mix 11 in Vegas where he was asked to create a second video. The video was debuted at Mix 11 and posted on YouTube. Microsoft promised to make the video into a national ad if the video was viewed 200,000 times. Unfortunately it didn’t make it.

Don’t feel badly for Brandon Foy just yet. Apparently Microsoft recognized the talent that this kid possesses because in a tweet by Foy, he mentions that he was at his first day as a UX Designer at Microsoft. So while he didn’t get a national ad campaign, he’s still a winner in this situation.
