Nokia N9 Launching Side by Side with WP7 Mango?

A few retailers are already planning their launch of the Nokia N9 device. The N9 which will be running Meego and was announced back in June has had a few dates ann0unced for availability from various retailers. Last month Swedish carrier 3 Group mentioned that it would arrive September 23rd, while a retailer in Kazakhstan is listing them for August 19th. Now Orange Switzerland is planning to have Nokia’s N9 available on September 15th.

This coincides with the rumored timeline for the Windows Phone Mango update. Will the N9 and any of Nokia’s upcoming Windows Phones coincide around the same date? Only time will tell  – the last thing either company should be doing is competing with one another for sales and exposure.Obviously though this is all depending on if any of the devices launch in the same place.

Is it just me that thinks its pretty akward that Nokia is coming out with their MeeGo phone while making the big Windows Phone push?
