Creator of Dilbert Accepts Brandon Watson’s Challenge

July 28, 2011 No Comments

Scott Adams, the creator of Dilbert recently vented on his blog about his experiences with smartphones. In a bold move, Brandon Watson, Director of Developer Experience for Windows Phone commented on his blog post with a little challenge. He challenged Scott Adams to try a Windows Phone 7 device running Mango and see if Windows Phone gives him everything he was looking for in a smartphone but had never found. If he isn’t satisfied with Windows Phone then Brandon Watson will donate $1,000 to the charity of Adams’s choice.

There was no word about whether Adams had accepted the challenge….until now. In a brand new blog post Adams addresses the challenge and confirms that the challenge was accepted.  In his post Adams lets his readers know that he will give an update to the challenge in a few weeks.

Brandon Watson also issued this challenge to CNET reporter Molly Wood after she tweeted about issues with her Droid X. She too has accepted the challenge.

Many think that this is a no win situation because if they like the phones then no charity gets money and if they don’t then it is bad press for Windows Phone. I am confident that both Scott Adams and Molly Wood will be satisfied and Microsoft donates billions of dollars a year to charities. Just because it isn’t donated as a result of this challenge doesn’t mean it won’t make make its’ way to people in need.
