In App Purchases Not Coming to Windows Phone with Mango

July 21, 2011 No Comments

Knowing that the Mango update would bring lots of changes to Windows Phone many developers sat idly by waiting for the announcement of in-app purchasing. The fact that the recent game release Beards and Beaks featured in app purchasing for downdoadable content it seemed like it may be a sure thing. Apparently that is not the case.

Comments on the Windows Phone Blog promted discussion regarding in-app commerce and Microsoft’s Todd Brix shot down any hope.

Current speculation is that Microsoft was just using Beards and Beaks to test the waters. Hopefully Microsoft gets IAP implemented soon because they really need to keep the developers happy.
