Microsoft Discusses Social Network Filtering in People Hub and More [video]

July 20, 2011 No Comments

The Windows Phone YouTube channel recently put up a new video in which they go over some the new features in Mango having to do with social media integration in the OS.

One of the new features is the feeds filtering option that lets you pick and choose the feeds you want to receive in your people hub. They also implemented a notification system that updates your “me” tile to tell you of any activity that is going on with any of your social profiles. From your “me” tile you will be able to see a list of any activity involving your profiles. You will then be able to tap on a specific notification and comment, reply, like or whatever that specific program allows.

All of this really sounds great to me. I specifically like the notifications. Right now you can check the Facebook feed in the people hub but there is no way to interact with Facebook without actually opening the Facebook app. These additions to Windows Phone will definitely make Windows Phone easier and more convenient to use.
