Developer: Study Finds Microsoft Advertising SDK More Profitable Than Admob
July 18, 2011 1 CommentA study recently done by Microsoft matched up Microsoft’s own Advertising SDK with Google’s AdMob. To determine which would be more profitable to developers they teamed up with Herm Mogilevskiy, developer of the “Paper Toss” app, and Jeff Weber, the developer for the “Krashlander” app. They both implemented AdMob and MS advertising with a 50/50 split on both apps from June 2nd to June 20th. The study concluded with Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows Phone 7 driving a 71% higher yield, producing greater overall gross revenue earnings and fill rate.
While this test showed a very positive outcome for Microsoft they also spoke about the future of the service and improving it further.
“While these results are very encouraging, we’re really just getting started in building out what we believe will prove to be the world’s most advanced monetization engine for mobile apps. We’ve got some exciting news coming in the next few months on the international front, so stay tuned to this blog for the latest on the Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows Phone 7.”
I would suggest developers to try both services for a short amount of time and see which is best for you. Any developers here try both advertising platforms? Which worked out best for you?
