July 17, 2011 7 Comments

Microsoft has announced the the App Hub site and services will be down for the most of the day on Monday (7/18/11). Reason for service interruption is stated as service upgrades, although it doesn’t mention what kind of upgrades exactly. The App Hub site states the following:

App Hub down July 18 for service upgrades new!

Pardon our dust. App Hub will be down for service upgrades for most of the day starting around 10 a.m. PST on Monday, July 18. During this period, developers will be unable to register, to access their Windows Phone developer accounts, or to use the forums.

We appreciate your patience.

We have are guesses at what the new upgrade might bring:

  • Preparing to support more countries & languages
  • Adding support for Marketplace on the web
  • Adding the option for Microsoft Points
  • Ability to submit apps for Mango

We should know more by tomorrow
