App Review: eBay

July 15, 2011 No Comments

I enjoy being able to make impulse purchases at any point during my day and since I don’t work in a shopping mall, I’m left with few choices. eBay for Windows Phone is an awesome application for all you mobile shoppers out there. Not only can it instantly satisfy (which is ironically only temporary) my need to have the latest toy , it serves a very useful purpose when shopping for good deals.

The initial home screen displays popular searches and allows you to log-in with your eBay credentials. When logged in you can view items you’re watching, purchases you’ve made, items being sold and your message inbox. A third screen keeps a history of your recent searches.

In my opinion, the nicest feature of eBay is most certainly its ability to notify you when you have been outbid on that item you need to get your hands on.  This keeps you in the game right and lets you counter-offer till’ the end while letting you live your life away from the home PC.

A second nice touch is the ability to change your background theme. Currently there are 6 to choose from.

When a search for an item is complete, products are listed in either “All”, “Auctions”, or “Buy it now”. The list view can be customized depending on what you prefer to see. The default view previews item details like price, cost of shipping, and time remaining. A change to the view will list items simpler by their posted picture but will fit more search results in the list. Having a choice is good right?

Once you have located your deal of the day you can pay using your PayPal account.

And of course like most mainstream service apps – this one’s free in the Marketplace.

Download For Windows Phone

The eBay Mobile application is designed specifically for Windows Phone 7. Using a streamlined interface that’s as elegant as it is practical, eBay members can search, bid, and check their activity on the go. Buyers can submit that last-minute bid on a hard-to-find item, sellers can check on their sales, and act on time-sensitive information on the spot without a computer. eBay is open for business anytime, anywhere on Windows Phone 7!
