End of Year Release of Windows Phone for Japan Still Expected

July 6, 2011 1 Comment

With the release of the Mango update in the Fall, Microsoft is expected to expand the territories where Windows Phone 7 will be available. One such place is Japan. Microsoft has said that Windows Phone 7 handsets should be available in Japan by the end of this year, and according to Yasuyuki Higuchi, corporate president of Microsoft Japan everything seems to be right on target.

“Mango is in the final stage, carriers and manufacturers, together with content providers, and are also developing services-enabled applications,”

Microsoft needs to get the ball rolling and continue to spread knowledge aboout Windows Phone 7 globally. If they can really get people talking about it and realizing that it really is different from Windows Mobile then more people might be willing to give it a chance, and the more places it’s available the more people will be aware of the differences and word will spread.
