Nokia to Launch First Windows Phone on Oct. 26?June 22, 2011 1 Comment
We reported earlier this week that Stephen Elop himself stated that their Windows Phones will in fact start to launch later this year. Now PCmag is speculating that Nokia might launch their new WP7 devices on October 26th. Nokia has set the date for it’s annual Nokia World conference on October 26-27 in London, fueling speculation that this will be in fact the venue at which they announce the new devices. Judging from what they showed off earlier this week with the N9, I am expecting amazing Windows Phone devices from Nokia.
Right now there aren’t many details on the Nokia World site. Each day of the show has a keynote, and the agenda is bland. But at the Communicasia conference today where Nokia announced its MeeGo-based N9 phone, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop confirmed what EVP Jo Harlow told us in May that Nokia would be releasing its first Windows Phone 7 devices this year. – PC MAG
October 26th sounds just about as good as any in this calendar year to start the new era of Windows Phone. October 26th also falls in line with when Mango is expected to arrive.
