Nokia Gets It’s Developers Ready For Windows Phone (Mango 1,500 New API’s?)

June 20, 2011 No Comments

Nokia has launched a new look to their developer site and now it includes Windows Phone 7.1 (Mango) development. Also with the new site comes word that there will be 1500 new API’s in the Mango update. From my knowledge that is the first time a number was made available as to how many new API’s would be available to developers.

Developing for Nokia with Windows Phone 7.1

Windows Phone is the primary smartphone platform for future Nokia devices. In partnership, Nokia and Microsoft crafted a joint strategy to deliver a vibrant ecosystem of devices and services that deliver an innovative and differentiating user experience for your apps.

Nokia Developer is a “one stop” shop for developers who want to distribute to the joint Nokia+Microsoft ecosystem. The tools, design guidelines, technical documentation, support and community that developers have come to expect from Nokia will continue to be here for Windows Phone, too. Existing premium members and publishers will receive exclusive benefits also in publishing for Windows Phone.

Nokia devices with Windows Phone will be based on the Windows Phone OS 7.1 (code named ‘Mango’), which brings exciting advances to developers, featuring 1500 new APIs.

Getting started with Windows Phone is easier than ever with the guidance available on these pages – now is the right time to prepare for the future!
