Windows Phone 7 vs iPhone on Fox 5 DC Smart Phone Zone (Video)

June 17, 2011 6 Comments

It’s awesome to see good press about Windows Phone 7 on something that regular non-techie people watch. Fox 5 pits the Windows Phone 7 vs iPhone and android and really compare them on a couple of variables like battery life and features. They even call out iPhone and Apple for making announcements on features that the Windows Phone currently already has.

Finally some real mainstream support. This is fantastic news for wp7. Seeing as most people these days who arent to tech savy generally know of 2 things when it comes to phones, iPhone (obvcourse) and Android. This type of recognition, with such positive reviews, especially when compared to an iPhone is exactly what we need. And once mango gets released, wp7 is going to be a MAJOR competitor in the smartphone market.

It is going to take more than just Mango to be released to be a major competitor. You have to show the consumer why should they choose WP7 over another platform. It is no longer being able to say I have this or that feature.

Mango will blow the roof off. I know it is tough to wait, but I think MS has been clever in releasing so much info about the upcoming 7.5. I sense iPhone trying to play catch up on many features. The market has been saturated with their devices, and anyone who is in the least disillusioned with the iPhone experience will be looking soon for something truly different. Android captured that longing a bit ago, but they have proven little different from the iPhone. It was great watching his tiles update as they were speaking and the versatility of the hubs and live tiles really shone in this coverage.

Specifically, apple is trying to compete with android not wp7. Wp7 features are not compelling enough to convert ios users.
