(Update) Shazam Has Disappeared From The Marketplace – Took Encore With It

May 17, 2011 No Comments

Just as I was going to start listing the differences between the original Shazam app for Windows Phone 7, it’s update and the new Shazam Encore app – They have all simply disappeared from the marketplace. You can not even update your current Shazam application at the moment. We went into detail about the new Shazam Encore application as soon as it came out but recently an update for the free original app was released and it bothered more than a few people.

The biggest issue has been that the original Shazam has been cut down to just 5 tags a month for new users. If you wanted any more than that you would have to upgrade to Shazam  Encore which is was on sale for a whopping $5.99.

I am not sure if this has to do with both apps being missing in action but it is very suspicious.

Update: Shazam claims to have had issues with both apps leading to them being pulled off the marketplace. They are trying to have it back on the marketplace soon.

App info: With Encore you can enjoy exclusive features including unlimited tagging and
Recommendations, as well as all Shazama’s features identify – a track, buy
it, check out the videos, get the lyrics and more.

It’s the slicker, faster way to discover more about music!

Upgrade your music journey with Encore:

  • Unlimited tagging, so don’t miss a music moment – tag as often as you like
  • Identify what song is playing and buy the track direct on Zune Marketplace
  • Get Music Recommendations to discover similar music
  • View lyrics and sing along to tagged tracks
  • Read album reviews, artist biographies and discographies
  • Watch YouTube videos for tagged artists from within the App

* Lyrics available in US, Canada, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain,
Australia and New Zealand
