App Review: TuneIn Radio

April 11, 2011 No Comments

With the Zune pass sometimes people forget that there are such things as radio stations. We have become very spoiled by downloading songs on the go or just playing our favorites from our previously created playlists. While checking out the TuneIn Radio App on the WP7 marketplace I realized that radio had recieved an upgrade too.

With the TuneIn Radio app you can search though all your local stations but also worldwide and internet radio as well. Preset the stations you listen to the most and it even lets you search through the programs like listening to the 1pm show at 9pm – pretty cool. Also you can listen to sports and podcasts. It pretty much has everything you can ask for regarding a radio app on your smartphone.

Downside? It needs to be faster… buffering for over 20 seconds isn’t going to cut it for too long. It is ok if you already know what you are going to be listening to. But for someone that wants to “station surf” this app will get frustrating fast. Nonetheless, everything else about the app is solid and will be a good app to have installed on your WP7 device.
