The Great Canadian Apppathon contest came to a close this past Thursday. The tournament was a race to build a game for Windows Phone 7. A group of childhood friends called Team Masheen and their entry ‘Super Punch’ came in first place to win $25,000, What will  they do with all that cash? Well they are already in the process of starting their own studio ‘Bit Shift Games’ and already put up their website.

“We get back home and we are going to start talking about it next Wednesday and and do the necessary steps that we need to get set up as a business on the infrastructure side,” said Pieter Parker, a 22 year-old Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) student studying digital audio who designed the graphics for Super Punch; the name of their first-place submission.

“We’re just going to plow right into it.”

Can’t wait to see more from this talented group of developers
