Check the Status of Your NoDo Update: Microsoft Wisens Up

March 23, 2011 No Comments

Even though this update process has been horrible. I think what everyone wants is atleast an honest and open communication as to when things are supposed to happen. And if for a certain reason things do not go accordingly then tell us why. Finally I think Microsoft is getting the idea and they just posted on their Windows Team blog some details about the NoDo update,

‘This week we’re sending out the new update only to “open market” Windows
Phones around the world. If you own one of these phones, you probably already
know it: these are unbranded devices that aren’t customized for a specific
mobile operator.

In next phase of the rollout process, we’ll start making the update available
to a broader range of customers. When the update is available for your phone,
you’ll get a message on the device letting you know. All the instructions you
need to install an update are here on the Windows Phone website. (Some new phones
come with the update already installed.)’

So now Microsoft is finally giving us what we asked for. A clear answer as to when our update is supposed to hit our phones. Check out http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/features/update-schedule-usa.aspx to see when your phones are supposed to recieve the update. From the look of it, the HD7 and Dell Venue Pro will be getting it in less than 10 days while all the AT&T phones are still being “tested”.
