8th Grader Creates Popular App Dog-A-Pedia

Eighth-grader Preston Oakes took his love and worry about dogs being put to sleep into creating one of the hottest apps in the books and reference section. The App is called Dog-A-Pedia and it shows information for tons of dogs like average weight, height, color, life span and even notes if a dog is hypoallergenic or not.

Preston started from scratch. He downloaded an app developer kit and watched tutorial videos, including one for “absolute beginners.” From there, he gathered the information and photographs and uploaded them

The app is currently free in the marketplace right now so if you need help with any dog info you should give it a try

App Info: This app is to help teach and inform people about different dog breeds. It is also to help people chose the right dog for them and to hopefully reduce the 9.6 million animals that are euthanized each year.
