T-Mobile Merging with Sprint? Say it Ain’t So!

Many moons ago I had Sprint as my cell phone carrier. When my bill came at different prices every month I decided I’d had enough and mosied over to T-Mobile. I have been content with things at T-Mobile which makes me apprehensive to find out that there are talks of merging the two.

Bloomberg Businessweek is reporting that Deutsche Telekom is in talks to “sell its T-Mobile USA unit to Sprint in exchange for a major stake in the combined entity.” When asked about the merger, Deutsche Telekom Chief Financial Officer Timotheus Hoettges had this to say “In general, all options are open in the U.S. — the sale of the whole business
or of parts,”.He also said that the company could also find a partner, sell shares in the market or form a network agreement.According to Hoettges. Deutsche Telekom is felxibly positioned and is working on several options. “We’re not under pressure. We want the best solution.”

I don’t know what to expect, but hopefully my past experiences are no longer cause for concern.
