Bing Deals App Released for iPhone and Android…What happened to Window Phone 7?

March 4, 2011 No Comments

Microsoft has released an app called Bing Deals for Android and iPhone. The big question is, where is the WP7 app. One would think that a company would support its’ own products before that of their competitors. Seems to me that with Windows Phone 7 sporting that unavoidable Bing button that it should get equal respect from Microsoft as that being received by Android and iPhone. A statement to Microsoft by ZDNet states:

“The (deals) functionality is based on HTML5 and will work with phones that
support it, but today is being released for iOS and Android. Windows Phone 7
announced that they will have HTML5 support in an update later this calendar
year, at which point deals will work great on Windows Phone.”

Sincerely, I can understand the fact that WP7 isn’t capapble as of yet to run the app. Let’s be honest though, if you aren’t supporting  your own platform by at the very least releasing an app for it the same day as the competition, how seriously can people take you. I also understand that the success of Bing really is a seperate thing from the success of WP7 but the very least Microsoft can do is give them the chance to try and succeed together.
