Some Top Devs Already Making More Green on WP7 than Android
February 16, 2011 No CommentsWell would you look at that. Windows Phone 7 has been out for only a few short months and it already has some developers making more money on its platform than Android. Android which has been out for much longer has an enormous user base but is full with free applications, open source projects and lack an adequate payments infrastructure. Lets compare each platforms top apps.
- Electronic Arts’ Need for Speed, was seeing an estimated U.S. 68,000 downloads per month at 99 cents.
- Fruit Ninja, originally created by Halfbrick Studios, saw an estimated 49,800 U.S. downloads at its $3 price on the platform in January.
Even better take a look at this chart showing how much better some top tier games are doing…
Developers must be taking notice because already we are starting to see a significant shift. 66% more projects for Windows Phone 7 have started in the past week. We still have a long way to go but we can definitely call this a WIN.
