Data Usage Issue Not Exclusive to WP7?

Yesterday Yahoo released a statement pretty much putting blame on Microsoft for the problems with Yahoo Mail using a high amount of data (article can be read here). In a twisted turn of events Rafael Rivera has uncovered that Windows Phone 7 isn't the only platform experiencing this problem with Yahoo Mail. In fact the other platform that was discovered to have the same issue was none other then the magical Iphone. Through a series of what looks like mumbo jumbo to me but apparently makes sense to him he was able to conclude that data usage was high on the Iphone as well (see his mumbo jumbo here).

I am really interested to see what Yahoo has to say about this new information. Who can they blame now that it is happening on a whole other OS? I'll be tuning in with popcorn in hand to see how this drama plays out.
