Google Documents App Available

January 29, 2011 No Comments

For those of you that use Google docs a new app called Gdocs has just been released that lets you manage your Google docs on your mobile. I don’t personally use google docs but I had to test things out to see what the big deal was. I logged into my google account and made a document. It saved automatically and then I took my phone and almost instantaneously the document was right on my phone. Pretty cool, especially for those of you who might need to transfer important documents to your phone. Sadly, at this time Gdocs doesn’t allow you to edit your documents. I am sure that a nice little update is in the near future for this app.

Gdocs key features include:

Viewing documents, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings and forms.

Offline (no internet needed) viewing once downloaded.

“Download all” option allows you to have all your files available for offline viewing on the go.

Very responsive and intuitive user interface.

Your password is encrypted before saving. All communications with Google is over SSL (secure channel)
