WTH T-Mobile?!?!

January 14, 2011 No Comments

For over a month the Bing background on my phone has been stuck on that default image of the bird that I have grown to loathe. My phone didn't always stay on that image…i saw it change a few times but it totally stopped changing. Me being the resourceful gal that i am, i took to the internet and did a search. Through my search i came across a forum where someone was having my same issue and also wanted to know why. He got a couple of answers but the most interesting one was that T-Mobile in an attempt to keep data usage to a minimum, is blocking the phone from updating the Bing page automatically through their network.

They mentioned putting on Wi-Fi and how that would change the Bing page. Naturally i wanted to see if that would yield any results. So I connected to my Wi-Fi and pressed the Bing button and I was no longer staring that dumb bird in the face, instead I was looking at the beautiful landscape of London. So WTH T-Mobile?!?! Why aren't you letting my phone work to it's full capability? Don't you think you should let people know how to make a function work (that should be working) if you intend to not let it utilize your network? It sure would have saved me a lot of frustration. Are any of you having this issue? If so, what network are you on?
